Steve Bruno developed his interest in photography when he moved to Arizona from Illinois in 1979. Innate talent allowed Steve to master large format photography on his own. Although he considers trial and error his most valuable teachers, he credits the photography department at Phoenix College for fine tuning his skills.
Steve's work is known internationally. His photographs have appeared in numerous ads, books, calendars, and magazines. The list includes Greenpeace, Sierra Club, and Outdoor Photographer. He has also been contributing to Arizona Highways magazine since 1982.
Steve looks to capture nature at its rarest moments. Filters are used sparingly, and an occasional fill-in flash is the only artificial light source used. He does not remove or relocate natural elements for the benefit of the photograph. The end result is nature at its finest, and often as it will never appear again. |
